A horrific femicide occurred on Tuesday in Caranavi, a municipality north of La Paz. The incident took place during class hours at the Simón Bolívar Higher School for Teacher Training. According to the Attorney General’s Office, a 24-year-old man named Marco CH brutally attacked his ex-partner, 23-year-old Camila P.
The attack happened in front of other students. Prosecutor Limberth Arredondo stated, “They were in class when an argument escalated. The man then pulled out a knife and stabbed her repeatedly.” Both Marco CH and Camila P. were students at the school.
The victim, Camila P., was rushed to Caranavi Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. Authorities believe the attack was premeditated as Marco CH brought a kitchen knife to the school.
Prosecutor Arredondo revealed that Marco CH claimed Camila P. had “destroyed his life.” However, the prosecutor emphasized that this does not justify taking someone’s life.
Marco CH will be detained in a maximum security prison. The results of the victim’s autopsy are expected to be released in the coming hours.
