A shooting occurred this Friday at a gas station restaurant situated at kilometer 49.5 on the highway to El Salvador, in El Cerinal, Barberena, Santa Rosa.
Firefighters reported that by the time they arrived, the victims were already unresponsive, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
According to witnesses, gunmen entered the establishment and opened fire on diners. A black vehicle and a motorcycle were seen parked outside, and numerous shell casings littered the scene.
Upon hearing the gunfire, a gas station employee fled, while family members experienced a panic attack. It was noted that the victims were consuming alcoholic beverages at the time. Some speculate that the shooting stemmed from an argument, while others believe it was a retaliatory attack.
The victims, who suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and abdomen, have been identified as:
- Wendy Nayeli Peñas Godínez, 23 years old
- Sabdi Antonia Mendez Parada, 22 years old
- Diego Alejandro Chajon Perez, 23 years old
- Lester Humberto Ortega Orozco, 21 years old.
