A teenage boy was injured after being hit by an electric pole while dancing on the footboard of a moving train in Chennai. The incident, captured on video, shows the boy standing on the footboard before being struck by the pole, which caused him to be thrown off the train.
The boy, identified as 16-year-old Abilash from Madhavaram, is a first-year Hotel Management student who regularly commutes by electric train. His friend recorded the video, which has since gone viral on social media.
In the footage, Abilash can be seen dancing near the footboard with his friends. At one point, as he faces the back of the train, his friend filming the video urges him to look in his direction. Distracted, Abilash continues to look backward and fails to notice the approaching electric pole.
The incident occurred in an instant. In the video, other boys can be heard asking if he is dead. He was quickly rescued and taken to Rajaji Government Hospital in Chennai, where he is currently receiving treatment for his injuries. Additionally, the Royapuram police have launched an investigation into the incident.
