In the early hours of Sunday morning in the La Dalia neighborhood of Torreón, Coahuila, a violent clash between two rival gangs, “Los Vagos 13” and “Los Campos,” resulted in the deaths of two individuals. The tragic altercation unfolded around 5:00 a.m., claiming the lives of 36-year-old Jesús Ramírez Rodríguez and 21-year-old Jared Iván Reyes Romero, both of whom were residents of the neighborhood.

According to local residents, Jesús, also known as “El Cata,” was a member of the “Los Campos” gang, while Jared was associated with “Los Vagos.” Tensions between the gangs escalated into lethal violence on this occasion, leaving a lasting impact on the community.

Police sources revealed that the attack on Jared occurred on Hortensias Street, where he was killed with machetes, highlighting the brutal nature of the confrontation. Meanwhile, Jesús was assaulted on Clavel del Moro and Bugambilias streets, where he was struck repeatedly with pipes, kicked, and stoned. These attacks were carried out with such intensity that Jesús succumbed to his injuries shortly afterward.

A disturbing 55-second video recorded during the incident reveals the harrowing details of Jesús’s final moments. In the footage, seven individuals, described by witnesses as having a “cholo” appearance, can be seen attacking “El Cata” until he is left unconscious. Although Jesús can be heard groaning and struggling initially, the assault soon overwhelms him to the point that he stops making any attempt to defend himself or even react. In the background, a woman can be heard recording the scene on her phone, urging one of the attackers to stop with the words, “Fat already, fat man.” Despite this, the man, dressed in jeans and a blue jersey with the number 8, continues to strike Jesús in the head with a metal pipe. Another individual then approaches and taunts Jesús, saying, “You lazy people, go die for Los Vagos,” underscoring the deep animosity between the two groups.

In response to the incident, the Coahuila Prosecutor’s Office, Laguna I Delegation, reported that they have apprehended three individuals in connection with the crime. Among those detained are two minors and one woman, who are believed to have been involved in the attack or its orchestration. Investigators are now working to piece together the full sequence of events and gather more details on the gang dynamics that led to this deadly clash.

This violent episode has left the residents of La Dalia shaken, raising concerns about the pervasive influence of gang rivalry in the neighborhood and the growing need for measures to curb violence in the area. The authorities are expected to increase their presence and intensify their investigations to prevent further escalation between these rival groups.
