Docimar Martins de Oliveira, better known by his nickname “Maca,” was killed on the morning of Sunday, the 27th, on Vitória Street in the Coroado neighborhood, in the eastern section of Manaus, Amazonas. Oliveira, aged 42, was reportedly ambushed and shot by a group of hooded men who broke into a backyard area where he was located. Disturbing footage of the execution quickly spread across messaging platforms, showing the assailants as they closed in on him and carried out the attack. Local authorities are investigating the motive behind this violent act, which some believe may be related to his criminal past.
“Maca” was previously known to law enforcement, having been arrested in 2014 in connection with drug trafficking activities. During that operation, he was detained alongside an accomplice, Robson Neves dos Santos. The two were apprehended in the upscale Bosque Residencial Cândido Portinari condominium, situated on Avenida do Turismo in Manaus’s West Zone. According to the police report at the time, Oliveira and Santos had been operating a sophisticated narcotics laboratory from the condominium. The facility was equipped for the processing, refining, and packaging of various illegal substances intended for distribution.
During the 2014 operation, officers seized a significant quantity of drugs from the laboratory—approximately 14 kilograms in total. This haul included marijuana, cocaine, and the synthetic opioid oxycodone, highlighting the scale and range of the drug operations they were managing. Authorities at the time indicated that the setup and volume of drugs pointed to an organized network, suggesting that Oliveira and his associates were likely part of a larger drug distribution chain within the region.
Following his release, Oliveira’s whereabouts and activities remained largely under the radar until his violent death. The brutal nature of his execution, combined with his background in drug trafficking, has led many to speculate that this may have been a targeted act of retaliation or an attempt to settle scores within the criminal underworld.
