A former military police officer was fatally shot on the morning of October 7, 2024, while out walking his dogs on Rua Formosa in Jardim Guanabara, Ilha do Governador.
Video footage obtained by BME captures a car coming to a halt in front of former police officer André da Silva Aleixo, who is then shot by the occupants. BME reports that Aleixo was recognized as a key figure in managing criminal activities in both Ilha do Governador and São Gonçalo, located in the Metropolitan Region of Rio.
Wearing hoods, the criminals got into the car and fled. When they noticed a woman screaming in the middle of the street, the car reversed to attack Aleixo again.
